Headed for the Big Tex!

We dipped out on New Orleans and headed for the Big Tex! We drove and drove and drove stopping along the way for gas and to cool down the ol' Yella (our RV). We hit Beaumont, TX and decided to experience real Texas BBQ at its finest, Willy Ray's Barbecue Pit. It was awesome! Ryan sampled the buffet (of course!), while I tried the light fare, the pulled pork platter. Yum, yum...we were bbq'ed out and somewhat regretted the decision later, when it finally hit our guts. But we moseyed on to the City of Oil, Houston, but whizzed right by it, after seeing how gargantuan it was. I mean, I have never seen anything like it. Huge Metropolis!

We became exhausted, but decided to push on toward Austin, I mean we were like 2 hours away and we were stoked. It was after midnight and we were 20 minutes away from Austin and decided to pull over our rig and sleep in a rest area for the night. The next morning we would be up and atom. Austin here we come!
