New Orleans - Fly By!
Well we were so excited to finally get to New Orleans, until the crummy weather (rainy yuckness) got the best of us! We stayed one night at the Ponchartrain Landing, which is this cool RV park right on Lake Ponchartrain with the port and a marina right next door. We took a nap and then got our rain gear on to venture onto Bourbon St. We sampled a native Hurricane (a very strong mixed drink, recommend only one!) and enjoyed an awesome creole dinner at Oceana. Checked out the shopping on Canal St. (window shopped) and went into Harrah's Casino. Spent a buck and were up $12.50, but we lost it all on the quarter slots. Saw some cool ferry boats over at the riverfront. But the most interesting thing of all, was how Bourbon St. looked more like the Vegas Strip! There is a new sin city, that's for sure.
