We thought Sedona. AZ was gorgeous, but nothing could compare to our excitement to see the Grand Canyon. We left Sedona a little bit later than we would have liked, because we got caught up in the timeshare presentation and we wanted to check out this awesome chapel on the mountain. We headed out on the only road to the Grand Canyon, a dark 2-laned highway. But with Ryan's hawk eyes and my astute navigation skills, we were more than capable to get there safely. It was crazy to be out in the wilderness, we even managed to see a family of elk on the side of the road. And to our surprise, there was even snow covering the ground as we drove into the canyon. We got to our campsite around 9ish and it was freezing! Ryan quickly took on the man in charge role and hooked up all our hoses and electricity outside while I tried to stay warm inside the RV. We were so exhausted from the grueling drive, we hit the sack.
After a much needed night's sleep, I awoke to the vision of snow outside. No way....I woke Ryan up quickly and said, "It's snowing outside, it's snowing outside!" Or some similar corny expression. We couldn't believe that we were at the Grand Canyon and it was snowing. Although, that didn't really do us much good. All we had were our scooters to get to the canyon from the site and I was not prepared to ride my scooter in the snow on the canyon. And I was really just being a baby because it was cold. So we decided let's just hibernate in the RV for the day, rest, relax and watch some movies.
